RUDI GOLDMAN'S TIPS, TOOLS & INSIGHTS
THERE ARE THREE CARDINAL RULES DURING PRESS CONTACTS:
- Be prepared – have something to say that’s informative, short & interesting.
- Assume that any camera or microphone is the vicinity is on and recording your every word and action
- If you do not want it to be broadcast or quoted, simply do not say it!
Prince Charles made an embarrassing blunder and missed a great public relations opportunity last week during a press photo and Q&A session with his sons William and Harry.
It would have been a perfect opportunity to have Princes William and Harry sway public perception by making some statements supporting their father’s upcoming controversial wedding to Camilla Parker Bowles. Instead, Prince Charles seemed totally unprepared and made some inappropriate and derogatory comments about the journalists (under his breath) which were captured on video and audio and broadcast around the world.

"Recently, I did a short introduction to the key-note speaker I had invited. A few days later a PR consultant told me that I used a very convincing and conversationally way of speaking. He asked me if I was trained. So I told him about you and the training. It really seems the training is paying off!"
